A Decade of Involvement in Central New York

Simon’s Agency employee, David Capria is a lifelong resident of Central New York and is an active member of many organizations throughout the area.  He loves his hometown sports teams and his enthusiasm is seen in more than just an orange jacket, Crunchman t-shirt and locomotive ballcap.  According to Dave, “Syracuse is the best sized city in America! It is large enough to do many fun activities while still being small enough not to have problems many big cities have.”

David has sat on the boards of the Kennedy Club of Syracuse, the CNY Chapter of the HFMA, the Fayetteville-Manlius Rotary club and the Onondaga Community College Children’s Learning Center.  He has also dedicated countless hours with: Onondaga County Democratic Party, Town of Clay Democratic Party, CenterState CEO, CEO Ambassadors, Believe in Syracuse, Syracuse Downtown Walking Tour, American Diabetes Association, Onondaga County Veterans Party, and many more.

Dave is pictured here at one of the many Downtown Syracuse festivals he has volunteered at over the years.  He is joined by his wife, Theresa and their daughter, Lilly.

Of particular note is David’s last three years of service to Meals on Wheels, a volunteer opportunity that he truly relishes.  Fighting through snow, sleet, rain, hail – the full volley of precipitation specimens we get in Central New York – he never misses a day, nor a delivery, and always returns with stories from the many recipients of our community who look forward to their encounters with David, and of course the delicious meals he brings them!

Today, we at Simon’s Agency salute our friend and colleague, David Capria for continually delivering countless hours and passion for the less fortunate in our community and we stand proud of his achievements and dedication to our hometown.
