For over fifty years, Simon’s Agency has been collecting its clients’ money by using a mix of creativity, technical know-how and one very consistent model for paying its clients. The contingency-based collection model means that Simon’s only gets paid when it collects money on a particular account for its client. In order to be able to approach collections this way, we’ve also had to dedicate ourselves to continually being on the cutting edge of technology while exercising creativity in our approach with debtors. As we begin preparing for the festivities of the Thanksgiving Holiday and remembering the things we are thankful for this year, let’s not forget to also begin thinking about ways in which we can start preparing for the relief that many of your patients and customer will come into during tax season. You may be thinking that it’s way too early to start thinking about what happens in February, March, and April but, in truth, the first recipients of tax returns will be getting them by mid-January while the peak for tax returns quickly follows in mid-February! That’s not a lot of time to prepare unless you start doing so now.
More often than not our debt collectors come to us with little to no collection experience – and there is a very good reason for this – it is much harder to break the bad habits of longtime debt collectors than it is to teach the Simon’s way to people who are starting with a blank slate. Our philosophy has always been treating patients with the dignity and respect that they deserve by using good bedside manners and a positive approach. But this is just the beginning ofour process...
